Graduation outfit - thoughts?

Hey guys, so I'll be graduating on friday and I'm a bit nervous about deciding what to wear. It seems most women go the corporate route- pencil skirt, buttoned blouse. Or they don an A line sheath. I don't think I'd be comfortable in either.

I have the ASOS skirt and the top I own is much better in real life than the Maxmara substitute.

What do you think? Is it too flashy?
I personally think it's awesome but I don't want be inappropriate given the formality of the ceremony.

I don't really know anything about graduations in the US so I can't speak to the appropriateness of the outfit, but I can certainly say that it looks well put together, stylish and I love the colors. If most women go for a smart corporate look, then I could imagine this working well. Would you need a jacket?

Well I live in Australia and we usually just have a coloured stole and big black robes that seem to swathe everyone (including the 6ft gentlemen in attendance).

If it is cold, I'm going to take my Review blazer with me (http://i39.tinypic.com/35lvqqv.jpg) - but during the ceremony I'd leave it aside simply because I've heard it gets really hot under all the lights.

Anelis, I'm sorry I didn't realize you were in Australia! So am I :). In that case I am reasonably confident what you are suggesting would be perfect. It would be great if you could photograph yourself in the outfit for us. Are you graduating from uni? What are you studying?

What a coincidence (I assume everyone is American here too).

I studied International Relations at uni. I'm looking forward to the address- will be very inspirational given the cohort. Also, I'll see if I can get a couple of decent photos - the weather has been so unpredictable lately!

Ooo, I love that skirt. Can I steal it and get one for myself. It is exactly what I am looking for! A colorful soft midi!
