The Wit & Wisdom pants in the plaid arrived today , in the larger of 2 sizes I ordered. I’m sorry I don’t have a styling pic, but I wanted to say, big Thank you, Angie!
I think these are great. I believe this one is the correct size ( I ordered a size down also because of some reviews that they ran big & I was afraid they’d sell out. So those are gonna have to go back!) . So, this size fits more snugly through the seat than I usually wear, but I think that might be how I should fit them due to the stretch fabric, which overcomes some of the fit issues through the seat in pants that are rigid fabrics-and they’re certainly comfortable , and the waist would likely be too big otherwise.
But, I’ve ordered a size up just to see.
Angie, you are right about this “ plaid”. It is the perfect “ false plain” for me. I love the look of plaid pants, but when I try them they are usually “ too much” and not great in the rear view- for me that is.
I didn’t order the solid colors to compare, and am not tempted, since these will go with so many things. I might have when I was working every day, though!
I still love wool pants- am still wearing ( in winter ) some navy pinstriped wide legs. And I still peruse some, would be tempted buy just the right style & fit. But these are so much more practical for my lifestyle now, washable, and for me more comfortable than jeans- packable also- but give me the trouser look that’s still a big part of my style. With belt loops and set-in waistband all around ! A HEWI in a slight- stretch fabric, or even in high-end brands which are doing so many elastic waists.
They are fairly high- rise but not as long in stride , if that’s not inconsistent. Since the belt loops are wide, I first tried a wider belt, but thought that looked off, kind of making them look lower- rise. So then a regular 1” belt is perfect, as it puts the “ waist line” higher.
Sorry to ramble on , but perhaps some of these details will be useful to someone else considering them.
