Gorgeous Cognac Booties & is gap too big for me?

If you're looking for cognac booties the leather on these is gorgeous & they're on sale at Nordstrom.

I need the black ones more I think. I have cognac tall boots, black too but anyway is the gap at my ankles too big? I can't find any that aren't really, well ones that fulfill my other criteria. Am I not being PPP enough?

I have the same problem so I like to hear opinions. On these I feel like I want to see them either lower cut or higher, but not sure why.

Did you find any that worked Lyn? I think Angie has a Petty & she has thin ankles. I will have to look back through her outfit posts. I thought her snakeskin ones were Petty but maybe not.

I have a high threshold for the flower pot effect:). What are you going to wear with the ankle boots? That would be how I would assess the gap. Skinny jeans worn inside the boots would work, leggings and a sock crunched into the ankle works...unsure about working with skirts or dresses.

Deborah I would like the versatility of wearing them with everything but I do have the Sam Edelman Louis in taupe that I wear with shorts & dresses. They are a little flower pot like too but not as much as these I think. I need to find a pic of Angie in her python ones. Maybe she only wears them with jeans though.

Here is Angie wearing here leopard booties with a skirt. Will look for others. I cannot recall her wearing the pythons with a skirt. And her white boots.

I don't think that the gap is too big, but I feel like there is something about the design of the booties that makes them difficult to wear with a bare leg—they seem like they are a bit stumpifying, maybe? Wearing them with black tights would probably fix the problem, or else choosing a different color of bootie, one closer to your skin tone.

Yeah I looked through all of her outfit posts & I only see her Petty's with jeans or trousers, over the boot. Perhaps she bought them knowing she would only wear them this way. I do believe she has skinny ankles. Those ones in the pic you posted fit the ankle how I would like mine to fit. I guess this means they do exist. I am sick of not finding a bootie with skinny ankles & wide toe box. Not that the Petty is wide but it feels like it will stretch enough. Also they run big so the extra length helps me feel unsquished, even though my little toes have pressure right now, the rest of them can wiggle around a lot. My heel slips a lot too though. If I keep I should try a half size smaller.

Gigi maybe you & Deborah are right about them not being bare legged boots for me. I have seen them many times on others with bare legs & admired them but maybe they don't work for me. I do have taupe suede booties that I wear with bare legs. I could just wear these with jeans & trousers. Or keep looking for a better boot. I have black booties that do look good with bare legs but they are 3 1/2" stiletto heeled dressy boots. I want a low heeled or flat bootie in black leather.

Yes. The cognac Pettys were a top pick this week, Elle. They are IDEAL for all sorts of trousers and jeans. All styles in fact. But I do not wear them with skirts and dresses. My ankle cannot fill out the bootie and I have a low tolerance for the flower pot effect.

Thanks Angie! I would probably get them just for trousers & jeans, not cropped though, but sadly I think they are too narrow for my foot. The leather is soft & will probably stretch but what if they don't stretch enough? Maybe they need the potato treatment.
