I'm unstoppable with plaid this season, Inge. I guess I've been pattern deprived.
I hope these trousers work out for you, ladies. Remember to choose your level of slouch. I went more fluid than tailored and am leaving a little scrunch on the hems. But there is zero bagginess on my bottom and hips. Loose on the legs though.
Sarah, the trousers aren't itchy at all. I wouldn't have bought them if they were. The lining does wonders.
I'm not in the market right now but if I was I'd be ordering! This gives me hope though that there will be more options like this mid winter!! It kind of blows my mind that they can have the look book styled so great and yet the stock photo looks so terrible! You'd think in this age of on line shopping they'd be a little more particular!!
Thanks for the review, Angie. I actually put a size up from my regular size in my cart this morning, wondering if that would give a fluid fit for my fuller thighs/bottom. I may have to get the waist taken in, though. Worth a try, returns are free and easy.
I've been eyeballing this entire outfit since I first saw it on BR's website. I especially like the mix of white sneakers with this outfit. If I wasn't such a tried and true jeans gal, I've give this look a try. Looking forward to your outfits with these Angie!
Edit, actually it was the "slim-fit textured gray straight leg" that look particularly body con in their shot. The gray dots are worn a little looser, but not boyish.
Mine arrived! I agree they are a gorgeous soft, not scratchy wool blend that drapes. They feel lovely to wear. The grey to me has a warm, perhaps olive, undertone. They do have length and some width at the bottom. The fit on my particular shape is slouchy in that they sit below the waist and have a slightly dropped crotch, but not a big saggy butt. I like this fit but if I lose weight which I hope to do, they will start looking too big. Sized down I think they would fit as a tailored cut but probably be a bit tight in the rear. I've decided it's not the right time for me to spend the money on something I don't really need and doesn't work that well for my climate - they'd look silly stuffed into boots. And frankly even though I wanted this look I'm not sure it's JFE for my current shape.
Tldr; nice pants, but not for me!
Trying these, though maybe I shouldn't.
For the lovely gray dot tweed , which is so great for my winter pants capsule. Better that true black&white.
Sized up and would have to take in waist.
On me, the rise is low. Ergo, no tucking. But the length is long. Would function as tailored fit straight leg. Would wear with longish fluid tops untucked, and hemmed to fall over booties with 1-2" heel to keep the leg line long.
Hmmm !
LisaP I saw the mens ones at the store today & the ones in the look book could be those. The women's ones sized up do look like the look book though. I, like Angie, have decided to get my true size in the women's. The mens ones start at size 30 in the store which is way too big for me. I could get size 28 online though & see if they work. I like the slouch in the look book but the women's ones looked best on me in my size.
Wow, the two photos do show a very different fit. Just in the length alone, looking at the first one I'd think, "Maybe these are long enough for me" and looking at the second one, "These are probably going to be too short." !!
Trousers just never fit me correctly without alteration, but I haven't tried BR's trousers. Perhaps I should give these a go.
