I visited the salon today and here is the result.

I have to admit there is not a huge amount of difference from the front but the back is quite allot shorter. I'm loving the colour and definitely feel more polished.

It looks really great, Julie! I love it. It definitely has more volume and shape, and I can tell the color is a bit lighter, which really suits you. Can we get a picture of the back and side as well? Will you wear it curly all the time, or straighten it now and then?

I'm planning on wearing my hair curly the majority of the time, it requires hardly any styling, the stylist added a curling cream and scrunched the hair a little whilst drying and that was it!

I think it may be quite liberating for me to work with my hairs texture instead of against it for once.

Julie I missed this the other day, but I LOVE your new cut. We have very similar hair (in texture and length), and this is the direction I'm going in for my next cut (which will only be in a week or two, when I go home to Canada for Thanksgiving). Right now my hair is between chin and shoulder length and straight across the back, but I'm thinking that inverting it slightly might look good, because I'm loving it on you!

The thread that shana mentioned is this one, which I started a while ago about caring for curly hair. Not sure if it will be helpful for you, but there are lots of tips and product recs in there.

(OT but very funny, you look so much like my sister and certain members of my family- every time you post a pic I do a double-take!)

Thank you so much I have bounce in my step as well as my hair after reading your kind comments. Thank you Ele for posting the link, I can't bear waste so I will finish the products I have and then give this method a shot. How very funny that I look like your sister!

San, I had a few pale gold highlights added but as my hair has some red overtones it always looks slightly red in some lights. It's very strange because until I turned 18 my hair was a very fair ash blond with no red at all.
