Actually, most of the time good things sell out while I’m waiting, but this tale has a happy ending!
Last week I saw a beautiful Anna Sui silk bomber jacket online.
I was immediately drawn to the pattern, the color scheme, and the casual sporty vibe. While it would be a stretch to say that I need a printed bomber jacked, I could certainly make use of a lightweight topper for much of the year. Also, I love prints but have very few printed toppers. Unfortunately, as with most things at Net-A-Porter, price was a problem (why do I torture myself even looking?) Even at 50% off, I knew I’d be pushing it to get a reasonable cost per wear out of the jacket. I also found myself wondering if the jacket would quickly look dated (search “bomber jacket” on ebay and you’ll see what I mean). So, I passed. Go me!
Then Angie wrote her post about sporty luxe style going strong. Maybe the jacket would have a longer lifespan after all? I found myself trying to justify the purchase again, but just couldn’t get over the price. That is, until I checked the website today to find further price reduction. Never have I purchased an item online so quickly. Looking forward to showing off this great new piece when it arrives!
Most of the time I am too practical with my style choices and this has led to a few too many ho-hum items in my closet. One of my style goals this year is to go with my gut a little more (while still keeping budget and actual wardrobe needs in mind). Do you shop with your head or your heart?
