I'm finding as I dive into the clothing world with the zeal of a new convert, it is becoming quite obvious to me that I'm lacking in some pretty basic area of knowledge, particularly about fabric type and content ( ie, I didn't even know what acrylic was as posted in a different thread-!). Honestly, I wear cotton and ..cotton, that's about it!

Wikipedia is somewhat helpful, but pretty scattered. I 'm wondering whether anyone might be able to suggest something a little more comprehensive, AKA "Fabric for Dummies". It would be nice to know the pros and cons of certain types of fabrics. I've found a few, but they seem a bit strident ("All synthetics are EVIL!")
