Good or bad floral? Or go for cardigan?

I have a 20€ discount that I want to use, but I don't want to spend a lot of money right now so I've been browsing the sale category. This floral shirt would be an option, a silk cotton mix fabric. But I'm bad judging florals - do you think it looks good? This would be worn with jeans, most likely. Another option would be a purple/blue lambswool cardigan. I have only one cardigan right now - a dark grey one - and I wear it all the time. I'm not sure how versatile the color would be IRL, though. The cardigan would be just slightly more expensive than the top.

What do you think - which one should I try? Thanks.

Well, I like the floral and would wear it for sure. It's very Ted Baker-esque. But florals are such a personal thing.

I like the cardigan too and I think it would work well in your wardrobe.

So personally I'd go for the floral but that's because I can't resist a lovely dark, moody floral. From a practical standpoint, it sounds like you'd probably get more wear out of the cardigan simply because you don't have many others, and it's very neutral/goes with everything.

Thanks Diana! Agree, the floral is kind of moody... Quite different to the florals I already own (a scarf and two dresses). But you're right that I probably would get more use out of the cardigan.

I agree with what Diana said.

But...I think it might be worth going with the floral if it has your heart. (If not, forget it). If it makes you smile, it might be your wild card.

Thanks Suz - and no, I wouldn't say it has my heart. I like it, yes. But that's all. Maybe the cardigan would be the better bet. It would certainly help my grey cardigan to hold on a bit longer if I could split wears. I definitely need tops too, but right now the cardigan would probably give me more options.
