OK so first I have to tell all of you how perfectly lovely and supportive you are all and how much I appreciate it. I'm truly touched and feel very lucky to be a part of this community. If only the whole world were like YLF
Anyway, the interview was a bit bizarre. It wasn't really an interview. She did not ask me any questions at all. She rushed me through showing her my work, and she did like a few pieces, but overall she was a bit unpleasant. She used a lot of erm, threatening language...like "we'll kill you" if we don't like what you're doing.
There were 3 men in the room who were working on something unrelated and had nothing to do with my interview. One of them, in his 40's or thereabouts, tried to flirt with me a bit while my interviewer stepped out. It was majorly awkward.
On top of that it was 9/11 in NYC and pouring rain, and my feet hurt. On top of THAT, the company changed the name without informing me, so when I got to the right place, I was very confused, went downstairs to verify that I was in the right place, and went back up, which made me a little late. less than 5 minutes, but still, this woman was pretty strict so I'm sure she noticed.
But...my big bro made me feel a lot better. The tea and dumplings were delicious, and I'm very pleased with my cheapo shoes. Will take pictures later. It sucks that the interview was so bad, but I'm trying to stay positive that at least someone saw potential in me and my work, even if they're not really a match.
