Good denim jacket to wear with dresses?

I checked out J. Crew online after the tip yesterday that outerwear might be on sale. I've been looking for a denim jacket to wear with dresses and this one is on sale. Would this work for a petite hourglass with apple tendencies?

I don't think it's going to be cropped enough to wear with dresses for a petite. Awesome jacket though. I've had luck with ON, ATL and H&M, of course they don't seem to have anything right now but they are out there. You might have to wait until the spring collections when there are more light toppers out there.

This is one item that you can sometimes thrift successfully, also. A few years ago ON had a very cropped denim and cord jacket that I've seen in thrift stores; it would work for petites.

Are you long or short waisted? That will be relevant, in addition to your overall height, in determining where these jackets might fall on you. For a full skirt or A line skirt you will need a jacket that hits around your natural waist. For a slim pencil skirt you might be able to get away with a bit longer.
