I was in Philly this last week for a friend's wedding (hooray!) and our last minute shopping included her wedding shoes. While innocently....can I underline/bold that?...innocently strolling past the displays, I was done in by Cole Haan. Three pairs of shoes, each 75% off, one of which I'd just passed on a few weeks earlier at nearly full price and was still thinking about. Have I gone crazy?
1. Wedge heels that I originally passed on, but bought this time. Price? Under $50. I can't guaranty I'll wear these, but I felt like I needed something in the wedge/caged heel style to perk up my jeans. I definitely thought these were worth giving it a go.
2. Black gladiators. DH hates them. Too gladiatory. I love them. Price? Under $40. I wore them with a gauzy, full white skirt and black tee and really like them. I also plan to wear them with my white shorts.
3. Snake gladiators. DH likes these better. (Huh???) Wore them already with white shorts and a JCrew blue gingham perfect shirt. I loved the pattern mixing. It felt daring, but because the snakeskin is neutral, almost a nude, it also felt comfortable. Price? Under $40.
I know that the reasons I splurged were because they were such a good deal, they fit (generally) very well into my aesthetic so feel comfortable, and I've been wanting some good gladiators for a while but haven't been able to find a pair that I loved. I was just wondering if gladiators were on their way out (probably are), and I wind up buying two. Crazy. Crazy shoe lady. That's me.
So tell me I'm not crazy to have snatched up three pairs of similar shoes. If I've gone nuts, the only ones that can go back are the wedge heels.
