I am new to the forum, not to reading Angie's posts, which I have done for almost 4 years nor to reading all about your wonderful fashion ideas, but this is my first timid post!

Do the gold shoes work? Thanks so much!

I think the gold shoes do work, from what I can see of them, but I notice the rest of your outfit is quite dark - do you typically prefer to dress in darker colours? If so, are you perhaps hesitant because gold shoes are out of your usual comfort zone?

Hi, Yes, this one outfit is dark, but I do wear lighter colors! I was wondering if the gold...sort of bookended the top, which in person has a gold undertone, versus brown. I will do better next time with photos!

LOL, yes, gold jewelry. Very warm here today, so I thought let's see what this summer outfit will look like! I had the skirt last year, the top is new.

The lacy edges of the leaves on the skirt and the openwork on the shoes connect them especially well. I was thinking a lighter texture as a top would be even better but Zaeobi's comment about color is interesting because the t shirt is much darker than the shoes.

And Angie's "..shimmery tee.." makes me wonder if there's detail on this top I can't see in the photo.

Ah in that case, wear away! Sometimes details show up better in person than on camera, no worries (personally I have awful lighting at home, so the colours of my photos are usually off lol).

I asked you about the 'dark' colour scheme because I have 3 pairs of gold shoes that I love to wear in the summer (slip-ons, sandals & block heels) but I have to be at peace with the level of contrast they create against my non pastel outfits (my solution so far has been to 'bookend' them with gold aviator sunglasses - not for the faint of heart haha!)

Welcome, and you look fab! I love the gold mules with this look--who doesn't love some daytime bling :)? I had some silver booties once that took me a little bit of time to get used to wearing (they felt so bold and shiny) but once I did, they became workhorses, since they went with everything!

Those shoes are very cute! I can’t wear mules without flinging them off of my feet, so please enjoy for me.

I have that skirt too! I wore it a couple of days ago with a sleeveless tee I have had for a couple of years but just discovered matches the lighter green in the print perfectly.
