Gold shoe help--what do I wear?

I am deciding whether to K/R a fab pair of soft gold oxfords. They fit beautifully and aren't a super shiny gold, but in general my preferred metal is silver. Trying to figure out outfits--I can see jeans, white jeans, and black or gray pants with these, but not sure which tops might be best. Any of you have gold oxfords? How do you style them?

Could you wear them as a nude rather than gold? Then the metal colors might not matter. They are really nice and I like that they aren't super shiny.

Robin, they do sort of read as nude, and I've been kind of wanting a nude color shoe. I'm just not sure how to style that for some reason! I thought it would be so easy:)

Attached pic was taken for someone else on the forum so one brogue one loafer! But if you can imagine the gold brogue on both feet, those are the exact olive pants I wore them with, with a crocheted open weave greeny- gold jumper with a gold singlet underneath. Have worn them with a tartan shirt, grey pinafore, and tartan tights in the past, they can just make outfits pop. They can be worn like a neutral but just with an extra wow factor. I have to admit I do choose gold jewellery- but you can see mine are a much brighter gold.

I would wear them as a neutral, like a nude or soft taupe. For that I sometimes keep the bottoms light to take advantage of extended leg lines, and wear a top that's darker, or you can go column of same color. These might also work with summer dresses or skirts due to the " soft" look.

I wear mine with eeeeeverything. Like others have said, it functions as a better-than-nude color for me. I do have golden-toned skin, but I think it would work as a nude-ish color on most people.

PS - what are the oxfords in your picture? I am actually looking for some new ones because the ones I have are pretty close to dead and I am sad about it.

I have a pair of gold smoking slippers with a very similar finish and I wear them ALL the time (in hot weather in particular) as Robin is suggesting, treated like a nude. They add a nice little extra dimension over an actual nude shoe, and can be fun to pair with your cooler colors for a little tonal clash-and-contrast if you're into it. Mine get worn most with skirts, dresses and shorts.

Jenni, thanks for the photo! And I do have some olive pants, that may be a great combo.

Unfrumped, I like the idea of a column of color with them. I hadn't thought about dresses, but I bet a summery dress would look great.

Diana, you're making me want to keep them. Goes with everything? That sounds fab:) I don't have golden skin, more pinky, but treating them like a nude but better color makes sense to me. The brand I have is Trask--I found these on 6pm. I have really low volume feet, and Trask seems to run really narrow and the leather is incredibly soft.

Aida, I hadn't thought about shorts, but with a bermuda length short I bet these could work. I put them with my white jeans and that seemed like the best combo so far.

Not oxfords but I have gold loafers that I wear with everything. Get a gold bag and a gold belt and use one or the other with your outfit plus the gold oxfords. My bag is shinier than my metallic gold loafers but they still pull an outfit together if in doubt.
