As promised, here are the two pairs of gold mini-wedges I ordered to go with the rehearsal dinner/brunch dresses (as well as backup wedding shoes if the heels get to be too much). Please forgive my loungewear and end-of-day swollen feet (I promise they are not usually so ugly and veiny!).
1-4 is Born, 5-8 is Marc Jacobs, and 9 is both for comparison.
The MJs are shinier, more gold, and I think a little dressier. They are also almost 3 times the price of the Borns. (I can afford it, but it's a big enough price difference to warrant consideration). The Borns have a matte finish and are a paler, more champagne type gold.
Comfort-wise they are both pretty good but the Borns have the edge here. The footbed is more padded and has a bit of arch support, which the MJs do not have. However, the Borns will need some summer soles or other sole covering since they have that annoying Born stitching on the footbed that I find irritating to walk on. The ankle strap also hits a tiny bit lower which is more comfortable for me since it doesn't go over the bone. MJs have more toe coverage in front which is tricky for me because I tend to get rubbing at the tops of my toes. The leather on both is very soft.
