I'm done coloring my hair, it's time consuming and expensive. I'm not even sure what my natural hair color is anymore? i missed my 3 week hair appointment because I was in the hospital, and I'm waiting until the 5 week point to get it cut because my stylist is on vacation. I have done some reading online and it seems that with short hair the transition can be complete in as little as 12 weeks! Does anyone have experience with that?
Looking at my wardrobe, which now almost entirely fits into my closet, I am very happy with everything. I feel like I have learned so much about myself and my style. There is clearly more to learn, but there is a certain common factor that I can now pinpoint among all the items I have kept versus those I have purged. They are uniformly soft to the touch, and I believe they have a soft look to them, even if it is a boxy button down. They all reflect my style adjectives. (Soft, calm, fresh, classic, polished).
Long term wardrobe goals:
1. Continue to look for biggest HEWI- a well fitting blazer in a natural fiber, and in a neutral color in palette. Charcoal and Aubrrgine. It must be soft not stiff, and for whatever reason, I think a one button blazer may be better for me but I don't understand the difference between one and two button Blazers.
2. Pare down shoe/boot collection. For blue jeans find a pair of blue oxfords instead of black. For fall/winter consider replacement of brown leather flat shoes with charcoal, or navy. No new boots or booties unless a pair of black wears out and they are being replaced with palette friendly color.
3. Find a nice wool pencil skirt in wardrobe neutral -charcoal or Aubergine. (HEWI)
4. Find one pair of fun printed slacks to wear with sweaters/knits in color palette. (HEWI)
5. Find a long trench with zip out lining so it can cross seasons and work with longer dresses and skirts in crummy CNY weather. (HEWI)
6. Find a knee length wool sheath style dress, or a dress with trumpet style skirt, that can be used for religious services. (Must have sleeves!). Preferably in wardrobe neutral of charcoal or Aubergine, but it can also be any palette color. (HEWI)
7. Focus any other purchases on wardrobe holes especially solid colored soft blouses with nice detail. Natural fibers.
8. Continue to look for leather jacket in color palette, maybe coral, maybe some shade of blue? maybe one of wardrobe neutrals? (Another HEWI)
9. If purchasing a topper, it cannot be white, beige, or charcoal with exception of blazer and leather jacket.
10. Continue hunt to replace Coal Hahn wool coat.
11. Accessories: look for some large but light weight earrings in white gold. Buy some interesting chain necklaces in white gold.
12. 3 wild cards to allow for wardrobe updating.
13. Turtle neck sweaters in palette colors, not white or grey.
14. One or two new cashmere sweaters ( I can't help myself here, I'm a collector, so why completely deny myself?).
I am intrigued by the idea of a bespoke suit. I want to see how Una's turns out and maybe consider something like that for myself. That would address three items on my HEWI list all at once, but I'm certain it's expensive.
That's my complete list. I don't expect I will purchase all of these items. I suspect that I may have trouble finding them. I also have a set budget that is much lower than last year, plus a one in one out policy. The exception to the one in one out, are my HEWI items. I have reserved space for them in my closet.
What do you think, especially about my hair?
