Recently I have discovered that Marks and Spencer work brilliantly for my sleepwear and loungewear needs. Their tees, joggers and pajamas are inexpensive but great quality and fit. I am also planning to test their underwear too - does anyone have experience with it?
I realized how much easier is if you have a go to brand for certain items. I am indecisive by nature and the more choices I have, it is more difficult for me to make a decision. Huge amount of choices can overwhelm me.
So I started thinking that it will be great to have a go to brands for other things too. I don’t want to limit my self to certain brands, but if some brands work for me, it will definitely help with more focused online shopping.
I do actually have a go to brands for some other categories. For example, all my handbags are Coccinelle. It happened kind of organically, I had a hard time finding good quality leather handbags with silver hardware in colors that I like, with reasonable prices, and then when I discovered Coccinelle and had a great success with it, I stopped looking at other brands. When I need a new sweater, I first check Banana Republic and Boden.
I used to have a go to brands for pants, but they unfortunately don’t work for me anymore and I am looking for a new one. I had a great luck with J. Crew Remi pants recently, they are currently my almost only good fitting pants. I haven’t tried any of their other style yet, but planning to. Maybe is J. Crew my new go to brand for pants?
I think this strategy works best for basics, essentials and completers. I would probably not use it for statement pieces that usually comes from
most unexpected places.
Tell me, do you have a similar strategy and if you do, can you share your go to brands?
