Glasses Shopping - Yes, No? Double Edit: Two More Pairs

These are three that I liked from shopping tonight. I do like the new style of funky, larger frames. My personal favorite is #1, but are they too big? Or is one of the other two better? Or should I keep looking? You won't hurt my feelings, so please be honest.

#1 is a shade of dark pink, #2 and #3 are blue.

Sorry for my weird expressions and horrible hair - I can't see, and it was very cold and windy outside.

Edit: One more blue pair

Second Edit: #5, this pair is purple with green insides. The sides are patterned (#6).

#1 looks promising to me, Karie! Can we get some closer pics? Are you allowed to take them home to try? Love the blue of #2 as well.

I like 1 best. I like the color of 2 but the frames look too big for you. Not sure about 3. What do these look like from the side?

Joy, #1 and #2 are actually the same size frame but #1 appears smaller for some reason. The sides are plain. #1 has a pattern on the back half of the sides and a little color variation on the top where the sides meet the top front of the glasses, which I like a lot as I think it adds interest and is not distracting or "blingy." In fact, I had quite the discussion with the friend that went with me over a different pair of glasses that were perfect except they had this big blingy thing on the sides. They got a "no way" from me and a "yes" from her.

Suz, I didn't get any other pics but the store is close to me so I might stop back. I didn't even think to ask if I could bring them home to try, I've never done that.

I really like #1 on you. Looks like they balance your face quite nicely!

Number 1 and love the colour in number 2. I am not feeling the love from number 3.

I vote #1 as well. The blues are beautiful colors in themselves, but the dark pink (burgundy?) in that shape is very flattering.

Still #1 but the photo of #4 is not the best because of the lighting.

Though perhaps they are too big for your face, I am loving the color and shape of #2. They give a nice "lift" and you just look so happy and fun in them.

#1. I like #4 a lot too, it's a great shape on you. The picture isn't as good as the other three though, but I like to think I can see through those kinds of factors. If #4 were a different color, something brighter? they would get my top vote. Kind of like #1 is a happy soft red color (which goes nicely with your pink sweater -- could be one of the other reasons that pair is getting the most love).

I do like the look of these larger frames on you, Karie. 1 and 4 are my picks (also like 2, but I chose 1 because you liked that color best--I can't really tell much about the colors on my screen). I really like the shape of 4. They seem most current to me. I may be partial, though, because that's basically the shape I went with in my latest pair (which I'm wearing almost exclusively, even though my older glasses are still fine, prescription-wise).

Well the added fourth one is lovely! I'm a bit torn between #1 and #4 now Karie after picking #1 yesterday. In saying that, the colour of #1 is still my favourite with your colouring. Of all the items I wear, I find glasses the most difficult to settle on. Since we wear them each day, and they are a feature on our face, you want to get them just right. Don't settle until you are 100% sure.

Angie, the color of #4 is two shades of blue, dark on bottom, lighter on top. I like #1 best, as I think it looks more fun/funky. I like #4 second best but that pair looks more conservative to me. My biggest concern is my narrow head - I like frames that are big, but I don't want them to overpower my long face/skinny head. My eyes never seem to be centered completely in anything other than children's frames. Every time I tried on a smaller frame in the store, everyone shook their heads "no." (I brought a friend who also wears glasses, loves fashion, and knows my style, I enlisted the help of store employees, and asked random people!).

1 and 4 look best, I think, but I'd rather see better photos before choosing, and more straight on photos would be better too, when your head is at an angle it changes the way the frame sits.

The first pair is still my favorite. 4&5 look wide across your face to me and IMO they aren't as complementary as pair 1.

Thanks everyone! I will try and get back to the store and get a better photo of #1 tomorrow.
Staysfit, #4 and #5 are actually slightly smaller in lens width than #1 (only by 1 mm, if I remember correctly) but the frames must be making them look bigger on my narrow face.
