Well, I hit up Costco Optical and Pearl Vision today, and I don't think that I found any winners. Am I wrong in thinking that none of these measure up to my favorite burgundy and turquoise frames or even the cherry red pair I was thinking of replacing?
My favorites were in pictures #1 and 2 - hot pink with black polka dots. My mom actually has this pair in black, and they look adorable on her. But I'm thinking that they don't "lift" enough.
#3 I think are a bit too small for my eyes.
#4 is okay but I feel like they are kind of blah and drab.
As usual, most of the frames that I liked were ruled out because they were too narrow for my face, since I'm pretty wide across the temples & cheekbones.
I did find a pair of sunglasses with a wavy red detail on the frames that I liked a lot (see #5), but I'm not sure whether it's worth it to buy prescription sunnies, given that I like to wear contacts during our brief summer months anyway.
I'm not in a rush, as I can always spend this years $150 insurance benefit on contact lenses instead and wait until 2011 to decide whether to update my red glasses, or get a new pair instead. (Plus, I already have one pair I'm in love with, so this is just an extra/backup pair!)
