I know I'm living in LA when my optometrist invites me for wine and hors d'oeuvres to view the latest SALT frames!
Overall I thought the SALT aesthetic wasn't quite mine--too square. I admire square frames but don't wear them well. But I found two that I'll be considering.
The first (1,2,3) is kind of a blue "tortoise". The color goes from a darkish greyed navy to a very light clear blue. (Angie, I'm trying color!) Unfortunately I don't have any good flattering pics.
The second (4) is a matte bronze metal and they feel like a very neutral, safe, acceptable choice.
What I like about both of them:
1. the curved top line
2. the diagonal lines coming down from temple and nosepiece
3. the depth--my hairdresser said I have "a lot of face" and I think with the styles the way they are right now, it's a good time to take advantage of deeper frames
4. the colors are softer than black or very dark brown. After my recent black glasses (that broke) I want something a bit softer. But with my coloring I think something somewhat dark is still good.
I've posted the winner from a recent post, an Alexander McQueen frame, that shares these traits (5). Any thoughts? Thank you so much for looking and commenting!
