Giving up on white jeans and pleated midi.

This is a lesson for me in not waiting too long to try out trends.
I dont even know if pleated skirts look good on me because i never even tried one on and now any colour I like has sold out.
And there's practically no white jeans left in shops here.

I hear you. Sometimes I go searching online, but that has its own drawbacks.
I'm sure there's nice summer stock coming any minute now

I hear you. I am long waisted and and have short legs. Have NEVER found a pair of white jeans that look good. I see people wearing them with saturated color tops and want to copy so badly but just not flattering. As to the skirts, I love the idea of a fully pleated skirt and have bought one in the past but keeping the pleats in it was a nightmare. The dry cleaner charged me a fortune every time. The last straw came when I picked it up and they HAD PRESSED EVERY SINGLE PLEAT out of it. It was ruined. When I complained they said I needed to tell them to re-press the pleats! Maybe you just aren't supposed to sit down in themIF you do find a skirt you like make sure the length is right. My sister had to get one altered and they did it at the waist as her alterations person said it was next to impossible to get the hem right if she cut it off. My sister always felt it looked slightly off.

Anna I too am long waisted with short legs. I also have thighs that are bigger than anywhere else on my body. But I did find some one month ago that kind of fitted.Now, in the Australian winter, there are very few that are on sale at all.

Interesting about the pleats not staying in very well.

My winter tummy weight gain already evident but I guess wouldn't be on show irl

Oh Dear Anne- I don't think ANYONE could be flattered by the pants above.
Def go for jeans for pockets and detail . I wish I had bought 2 pair of my Sportscraft white jeans for you
I would leave the search until Spring and hope that some better stock appears then BBQ!

I've wanted to try a midi pleated skirt as well but can't seem to find any that fit my criteria either! Never thought about white jeans, I don't wear jeans very often.

I second you need to look for jeans that are more structured with pockets.
Those skirts with pleats are beautiful...
What about ezibuy? Do you buy from them?

I was only half joking about the summer stock - my little laughing emoji didn't seem to go on my post!
We have some lovely cool weather here today. I don't want to think about summer either, just want to enjoy wearing my boots and jeans.
Isn't it disheartening to try on pants that just feel blah. I know you know, it's not you, it's the clothes.

Hmm, there are a ton of pleated skirts in the stores here, I guess it's because it's winter there?

I understand your attraction and exasperation with pleated skirts. A couple of years ago, I really wanted a pleated black or dark brown leather (or faux leather) midi skirt. I had the hardest time finding one - never did. Not sure if they are "in" anymore but they still look classic to me.

First pair of white pants will be too big. Second pair are not bad IMO, if you're going for a fitted pant.

Anne, I know the feeling! I have some white pants a little like these but they need linger tops for sure. I suspect that you would look wonderful in a more jeans like pair so you can wear shorter tops too.

I did see a few pairs on EZibuy that might work for you. Prices good- I have had mixed success with them over the years.

Sally and Sally - I used to buy from Ezibuy a lot when I lived regionally, but stopped the catalogues when I moved back to the city nearly 3 years ago.
But I did go online and yes, there are some pretty cheap ones on there. Now I have to decide which ones I want!! And which sizes.

Thanks Lyn - I am presuming we wear the same size so that's helpful.

Dottie - I think that picture was on Angie's page. While I don't want leather, I do want to try pleats the size of that picture that are flowy. The annoying thing is that I saw some in Topshop the other week in Brisbane and that reignited my thoughts about them..But they didn't have them in blue in my local store and they were also a bit expensive.

Crazyone - maybe they'll come out again in our summer. I am a bit particular - I don't want large or stiff pleats. Come to that I'm not 100% sure they'll look good even if I find what I want. As someone said in the thread I put above, they are a bit reminiscent of what my mum wore in the 80s! However I have actually seen women wearing them now and they look good (though never sure if that is also because they are thinner and taller than me)

No pleated skirts for me either(never ever and no matter the lengtgh) BUT I LOVE white jeans, and always have a pair since joining YLF!!!! Believe me I have several issues with my legs, and bum and hips, and all....and still...once I have found a pair it fit, never looked back!!! So I would advice not giving up on them, you should find one for you, too!:-)

I too never would even think about pleated skirts. they add 20 lbs. to me as they are so full. White jeans and other white pants are my year round wears. Finding the right jeans is a chore in itself, but white are more difficult than any other kind. more factors to consider. but hang in there and keep looking.
