I’m enjoying reading the posts from his fellow fashion professionals / designers buyers / journalists etc. I had an ad torn from a magazine that I had pinned to my imaginary inspiration board of one of his suits. His stylists’ choices of models and hair / makeup really spoke to me back in the day .
A truly great fashion career, in women’s AND men’s wear. Those soft suits and lovely tones. And how we all ran to see American Gigolo back in the day. When Richard Gere tosses shirts and ties and jackets on his bed to make outfits.
He was a king of relaxed elegance. I have admired his designs since 1980, the first time I read an article (with beautiful pics) about him and his work. And his first perfume for women, simply called "Armani", was one of the best I ever had.
