Gear PSA - Petite winter pants (and Misses)

I wore these new pants today - Kuhl Klash - xc skiing and wanted to share. Have some stretch and come in a Short inseam. They are softshell, DWR, breathable, and comfy agains the skin - plus they look like jeans. 5 large zip pockets and nice lower leg zips that I don't have to shorten!!! It was warmish today so i didn't wear a base layer but I could fit one if needed.

I sized up from my typical vanity-sized streetwear pants. None of the retailers support Finds so here some links. Tons of rave reviews. They would also be great for snowshoeing, winter walking, maybe even spring downhill skiing.

Wow! Love seeing those skiing photos, especially the big smile on your face! I haven't done much skiing in the past few years but these would be perfect it I ever pick it up again.

I spent most of my life an hour from Tahoe and have tons of happy memories there. My kids learned to snowboard there too !

these pictures almost, almost, make me long to get out there for some cross country skiing....but then i remember 1)how much work it is, 2)how cold it is when you are done, 3)how much work it is....

Thanks everyone. I wore them again today in much colder temps and they still performed great.

Joy - I think you ar3 right - When I’m doing some adventure travel they might work as casual around town clothes. Or if I have to go running errands straight from skiing, they won’t scream ski pants.

Kkards - it isn’t very cold in CA winter - id never have become a skier if I didn’t live here. And for every mile you climb, you get a mile of downhill glide,

These look great! I like that they can pass for jeans if you're running errands on the way home.

I use a pair of OR Cirque pants for most of my winter outdoor activities. Warm, pretty indestructible, and I love the velcro waist-tabs. They give a really nice custom fit.

I'm jealous of your conditions. We got a good foot of snow around Thanksgiving, but it's all turned to crud now.

Do you skate ski or classic?

LaPed, those look like a great solution too. Our 15” of snow came at the end of November, but it has been quite cold so it has stayed remarkably good. I know it will get worse before it gets better as we don’t really have much snow in the forecast. So I’m trying to get out everyday. I think I’m at 14 days of the 15 since they opened. My pass is now paid for! Needless to say, my legs are toast. But when it looks like this, you just have to drag yourself out there. Yesterday’s ski eye candy below.

Carla - I do both - I Skate more because it is easier on my back and my technique is better, so I can go longer and more places, but I’m excited to be getting into to classic. My sacral-iliac belt, which I’ve mentioned a few times on the forum, see,s to make a huge difference in letting me classic ski comfortably.
