Gap sweater sizing--is small the right size for me?

I had gotten the ivory Gap dolman sweater in XS but Angie said I should have sized up. So here are some more pics--I bought the navy and ivory in S but I wanted to double check with you all before I rip the tags off (I ended up giving the XS to my sister). Keep in mind I still want to wear this sweater after baby too, so it will be looser on me postpartum than it is now.

1-2 Navy in XS.
3-4 Navy in S.
5. Ivory in XS.
6-8. Ivory in S (close-up of neck).
9-10. Ivory in M. I feel like the sleeves are too long in the M.

Yes, I absolutely think this is the right size for you, Natalie (now and after the baby is here;-) ETA: I meant the M, but the S works too. This jumper has a very relaxed silhouette, so the extra slouch is just right. Sleeves: mine are just as long, I scrunch them when I'm inside and they keep my hands warm and cosy when I'm outside:-)

Love both the ivory and blue on you.

I think S is great and M just too big. I was thinking that this might be a great maternity purchase: thanks for doing the legwork for me!

Personally, I like the fit of the M best, although the sleeves are too long.

But going with the S is also fab!

I tried this on and saw that YLF most likely would approve the M on me but honestly the sleeves were so long it was just silly. So i'd choose the S for you and suspect you will feel best in it once baby is here!

Well sleeves are long on me too - they come pass the first knuckle on my hands - but I like them this way. I can scrunch them, fold the over and just wear them long and slochy too - and skip the gloves outside!
Saying that I think S looks good - but M looks good too, just more slouchy. Keep whatever size you feel in better!

It would be fun to make a group picture of YLFers in this sweater - will be pretty big!:-)

Knowing you generally prefer a closer-to-the-body, more tailored silhouette, I'm going with S for you. It's still roomy enough for comfort now and slouchy enough to be stylish later. I wouldn't want you feeling too overwhelmed in the M afterwards, and I know that sleeves that length would definitely feel like a lot to me even scrunched (of course, I'm far shorter than you, but I'm thinking proportionately here).

Thanks guys for the input! I can see that the extra slouchiness of the M is a more fashion forward look, but I worry that the too-long sleeves and bagginess will make me feel like I'm drowning in the sweater, esp after I have the baby. Una and Manidipa are right, I normally prefer more of a form-fitted silhouette (which is why I originally bought the XS) but I think the S is a good compromise--a little slouchier than I am used to, but not too much. Plus, I won't have to go return the smalls I bought!
