GAP High Rise Skinny

I bought the High Rise Skinny from Gap today. There is a 40% off denim sale in the store, not sure about online. Skinny jeans may not be the best cut. for my body type but I went for it. The High Rise Skinny has intentional creasing/wrinkling at the thigh/hip area. The color is uniform but there is wrinkling. I'm not a fan but it doesn't look too bad and the salesperson said it relaxes with a few washings. I also tried on the Curvy Boot. I liked them as well and might purchase in the future.

Do you think the high-rise skinny could be sized up for a BF jean look? Are they true to size? I've been considering that route. The denim sale is online too.

Good question. I should have addressed fit in my original post.

They run true to size. I am 5'9" and wear a 16. I bought the size 33. I am not sure if they would be good as boyfriends if they are sized up. That could definitely be a possibility.

I sized up in their skinnies for more of a straight legged, or relaxed skinny, look (the Real Straight's were a little tight in the waist). I think these look fine on you if it's a skinny look you're after. I love the Curvy Boot, I have a pair of those too.

Another fan of the Curvy Bootcut here! (I wear a 16-Tall.) They have been a great wardrobe staple for me.

I might order the Curvy Boot online today in average and tall (for higher heels). I tried on the the Real Straight in the average length and I felt like they were a little too short and not flattering. Here is a pic of the Real Straight.

Yes… they look a little short. You may want to give the Real Straight Talls a try as both the length and the overall fit could be different. (Gap has free returns.) To tell you the truth -- I wasn't wild about the fit of the Real Straights on me either. (And I did try the Talls.) It might be because I am a rather curvy hourglass. Who knows???

El Cee, thanks for your comment. Yes, I much prefer the bootcut on my figure. I am not too sure about my High Rise Skinny jeans that I purchased. I sent my mom some pics and she liked them so I bought them. My husband wasn't too fond of them because he thinks they don't flatter the hip -- I can't say that I don't agree with him. I will still keep them and wear them rolled and unrolled. If I lose weight they will still work in a looser fit.

The closest Gap is an hour away. My son had a musical preformance assessment today in the same city the Gap is located. That was my opportunity to try on some jeans.

I was on a roll and ordered the Curvy Boot in dark wash along with some denim shorts, a couple t-shirts, a skirt, and hoop earrings from Banana Republic.

Thanks for the comments. I am working to build my wardrobe a bit -- it is seriously lacking -- and have better fitting clothes.

I had to buy Real Straights in tall (I hope that makes sense) to make them work me, length wise.

I like the high rise skinnies and the boot cut on you. My mom bought a pair of the curvy boot cut and has told me that she loves them.

I like the skinnies on you. Love your photo bomber, too.

The fits on all the jeans are quite distinct. I would definitely try talls if you are anywhere in that height range. It's worth the experiment.

K, yes. I think the Real Straight would be much better in Tall. I have a longer torso and shorter legs so sometimes the average works but not in this case.

I wish I could have spent more time trying jeans on today. I had both of my boys with me and they were getting antsy, to say the least. Thanks again for all of the helpful comments. I will have to post an outfit soon incorporating my new jeans.

I purchased the high rise skinnies in black ones size up and liked them. I also order them in my regular size. Both are longs.
