Today I was able to stop by the local store that had my size in stock and tried these on, and really liked them. Reminded me of the Gap of 5 or 10 years ago, actually - very solid construction and thick enough fabric that you didn't have to worry about your bits showing through. Hopefully it's a sign of good things to come!
I needed a tall, so came home and ordered them*. I didn't like the washed ones that much in person so just went for the chambray and the navy ('true indigo'). On me they were semi-fitted through the leg, pretty much as they fit the third model above wearing the chambray version. I could have gone up a size for slouchiness but then the waist would have been loose, and I expect they'll loosen up through the day anyway.
*PSA: they should be 35% off today, but I had to call customer service to get the code to work. Jeans were excluded from the promo so probably some website coder got a little over-assiduous.
