Hey everyone,

I have been taking a lot of WIW pictures but have not been inspired enough about anything to post lately. I've been waiting for fall to fall ... summer has been hanging around in New England for SO LONG, and I am really not a hot weather person at all. But I've been in the PNW for several days, and I am a happy person. Fall is here! It's been cold and damp, and I've been out walking and even running ... something about this kind of weather gets me going. I need a chill to get my blood percolating, I think.

I had some fun at Aritzia in Seattle with my friend Beth and will be sporting a couple of new sweaters in the next few weeks, but yesterday on my way out of town I found this amazing denim shirtdress at Gap. I'm wearing it today with bare legs and my Topshop patent booties (which get comments everywhere I go). It's a beautiful lightweight dark dark wash denim; straight cut, pockets, no belt, lovely drape, great length (it's longer on me than on the model). Perfect for the shift-wearing gal. In the store, I tried it on over my cropped bootcuts and I loved it that way, too. I think I will also wear it with skinnies, and possibly open as a topper. It seems to have a top of potential. And, for those with an Old Navy/BR/Gap card, it's 40% off (at least in stores) through October 4.

PS. I'm in Portland now with my younger daughter, who lives here and is at school at PSU. I feel so lucky to be with her, especially with the tragedy that unfolded just south of here yesterday. I'm sending love to all of you and your families. Hold them close and, if you are inclined, pray for stronger gun control here.
