GAP Always Skinny owners-Dyeing Question

I tried I bought my first GAP Always Skinny jeans in the darker blue color.While I was trying them on I noticed that my fingers were getting a bit blue.
I just want to go ahead and wear them because they felt super confortable but am afraid that the ink passes to my tunics.
Did this happen to someone, how do I make sure t doesn't happen?

Soaking the item in water with rock salt for 24 hours before washing helps set the dye

Celia - I haven't worn the darker blue Gap jeans but had this happen with my dark blue Jag jeans as well as my black Kut from the Kloth pair. I did get a bit of staining on my yellow purse and had to watch my white pleather jacket pretty carefully, but after two or three washes the jeans stopped bleeding.
I've also heard that washing them in a vinegar/water mix can help set the color, but haven't tried it myself.

It did happen to me a while back, with a pair of trouser jeans. You are supposed to wash them, on their own, before wearing - I didn't. I ruined a pair of converse that way.

The color might transfer to lighter fabrics or leather for a while, even after you wash them once though. It should stop bleeding after two or three washes.

I have those jeans and have not had any dye issues but if your fingers are blue I would wash them before wearing them and be careful with light colored items next to them.
I have heard about soaking in vinager but have never done it to set the dye.

Lots of denim come with labels warning about dye transfer and the need to wash before wearing. With my suburban mom existence, I practice a little rebellion and sometimes wear first without washing! When I do that, sometimes I've seen the dye transfer a little to my top if I'm wearing white. I usually use white vinegar as a rinse aid for my laundry, and after one wash have never had a problem with dye transfer.

I have the same jeans, Cella, in the same dark blue color, and the dye transferred to my hands as well, but I washed them in cold water with a cup of white vinegar and that seemed to do the trick. No problems now!
