F/W wardrobe refresh (and workshop)

DH and I did our annual closet review, and then went out for a little retail therapy in the local shops. DH was looking to replace some wardrobe basics - however I was looking for some wardrobe inspiration.

I found a pair of plaid Scotch and Soda wide leg pants in brown and turquoise on a cream background that inspired a capsule that I brought to the change room. Besides the wide leg plaid trousers, I selected cream corduroys, a cream merino sweater, a brown merino sweater, and a turquoise/Seafoam merino/cashmere blend sweater.

Alas, the S & S trousers on hand were too big, and they did not have my size *cry*. The cream sweater was a great colour for me - but too oversized and rather sheer. DH liked the cream corduroy pants and the brown sweater, and I liked the pale turquoise one. (See finds below.)

Workshopped a few outfits with the new items and stuff from my closet - then cut the tags.

I’m looking to build out this (brown) capsule with footwear and possibly a bag and a coat - and I haven’t given up on a pair of brown plaid pants. Will see if I can hunt down the S & S ones, or another suitable pair.

Light turquoise sweater is my favorite ( one of my good colors as well ) - so pretty on you! Brown is too serious for my preferences - lol - but looks good with off white pants ( and buttons are adding a bit of white in the mix ) - nice new additions!

Two really nice sweaters ! I prefer both styled casually as in pics 2 , 5 and 6 . The cream cords make a lot of sense in your wardrobe too .

Great finds Carla - these colours are very soothing - duck egg/seafoam blue is one of my favourite colours out there. And it is stunning with chocolate.

I hope the plaid pants become available or you find alternatives. I have worn my brown plaid pants a lot this year, I haven't really been into plaid in the past but these have been so useful and I look for chances to wear them.

Lovely colour additions. Seafoam top looks very elegant with your leather skirt. Love the brown top too, works beautifully in all your combinations. I can see both tops looking great with your cuffed wide-leg denim jeans too.

Love all the items, but the neckline on that seafoam sweater is the bomb! Love the animal pointy toes (are they flats?), they really elevate all you wear and is a perfect match with your hair color! Esp. love oufit nr 1. such a sophisticated color combo in which YLF! Nr 2 is another love, perhaps I have an obbsession with rich purples, I just don't have any in my own wardrobe...things to consider....:-)

I love the sweaters with the always fabulous leather skirt!

While I do really like the brown, the seafoam strikes me as the most inspired for your closet -- it will work with reds, navies, black, brown.

The pants look cozy, comfy, versatile!

I love that mock funnel neck one the pale turquoise sweater--a collar I am starting to see everywhere. Mock necks are one of my favorite things. It does look like you have struck a good balance between visually interesting items...and that they also are versatile.
