I ordered this skirt that Angie recommended recently because the long airy asymmetrical style and the gorgeous colors and print are right up my alley. It seems like the kind of piece that can work for summer or winter styling, which I also really like.
It arrived and I have done a try on session, and I love almost everything about it. The only issue I have is that the elastic waist is a bit pinchy — it’s just a little tight even though the fit is perfect otherwise. I confess this is not my usual problem, but I guess my midsection is not what it once was, and maybe this is just a tight waist!
Has anyone had an elastic waist successfully loosened? I am thinking of taking it to Nordstrom and seeing if their tailor (who has done a terrific job for me) can loosen this up a bit.
Some quick photos — it’s easy to pair with my variety of black boots, and seems to work with black sandals for summer too. I adore it with the blue leather jacket! I like it best with a simple fitted back top, but I struggle with finding tops that are short enough to be cropped on my short torso, without being boxy. I could use a good semi fitted cropped black top for the new higher waisted items I now have — that may be something I allow myself buy this season, even though I am mostly trying to SYC.
If the alteration to make the waist more comfortable and flattering is feasible, I think this is a keeper. I don’t want any skirts that aren’t a 9 or a 10, and this was on a good sale but still not dirt cheap, so I welcome honest feedback!
