4 for me please!My dad always used to drink his with two tea bags left in to stew,it was totally disgusting in my opinion as it was so tannic ,l think he must of had a a cast iron stomach.

My mom was the reverse CG - started as a solid 4 and ended as a vanilla wafer 7 at best, God bless her soul. And my Dad has switched to green tea! What's happening! I'm the only one left holding the fort lol

4 looks just right.
I had a set of mugs (grocery store special) that were blue on the outside and that shade of beige inside. Perfect for making tea for the family: daughter wanted it paler (5) son wanted it darker (3) and mine matched the cup exactly. Sadly all but one have now broken...

I'm #1. Definitely no milk and usually no sugar. They brought me a cup last year after I refused anaesthetic for a bone biopsy - with the driliing and hammering. Said to me, You really ARE hardcore.

Of course, sometimes the #1 is decaf. Either way, I like the tetley British Blend or maybe Lady Clarence. I used to like the Red Rose because it was like a cheaper Darjeeling - low acid - but they "original"ed it and ruined it.

Now please explain to this poor not-English-mother-tongue gal what is black tea then. (I understand we are talking about leves of infusion, not tea sorts, right?)

Sisi, ah, that's a good point:

Black tea as shown in picture #1 is referring to the tea being 'taken black' (i.e. with no milk or cream) ...

... but black tea does also refer to a type of tea, in contrast to green or herbal tea. I believe it's the same tea leaves as green tea, but that's gone through a different process resulting in a darker colour.

I will forever admire anyone who learns English as a not-first language, as it is downright confusing!!
