Frye Taylor short boot in eggplant??

I recently discovered these boots in the eggplant colour, which I absolutely love. Sadly I can't find them anywhere anymore in my size (I need an 8.5 or 9). I contacted Frye directly and apparently this colour has been discontinued.

I haven't seen these, Inge, but I just wanted to commiserate because I too am lusting after a pair of unattainable Fryes... in my case, it is the Veronica Slouch in cobalt blue (I think the color was called "sapphire" and was only made a couple of years ago). I haven't bought Veronicas yet because every other color I see just pales in comparison with the blue.

No way!!! I know *exactly* which colour you mean, sapphire indeed. I wanted the Veronica Slouch boots in that colour too!!! What a coincidence. They were gorgeous, weren't they!

I'm still keeping an eye out for them. What size do you wear?

Inge, that blue is just to die for, isn't it? I wear a 7.5-8 if you ever happen to see a pair... I"ll let you know if I see them in your size too!

Oh dear, sorry for replying so late everyone-(

Thank you so much for all the alternative suggestions, I am thinking about it, because I really do love that eggplant colour so much.

The Carson shortie is really tempting, although I would have preferred the slightly higher heel of the Taylors.
The oxfords are completely different, perhaps a bit too rugged looking, I'm not sure.

I'm wondering if I could squeeze into a size 8. It's just a little risky when I can't try them on first and international returns are expensive...
