Frye Julias question: Mo and Rae!

The Frye Julias are down to $212 in grey in my size on Amazon! I've seen them on both of you. Do you think they would be too tall for me, since I'm a couple inches stubbier than you both? Are they an all-day boot? Comfortable if I have to sit for part of the day? I can see them replacing my beat-up grey Bronx boots, which probably have one more season left before they are done...

For ME, they are super duper comfortable - I don't know how to describe the area, but I walked from Chinatown all the way up the hill and several flights of stairs in Dodger Stadium without any foot complaints.

As for height, the bottom of my foot to the back of my knee is about 16.5 inches (using a straight ruler), and here is where they hit me right out of the box. They get a little shorter as you wear them and the ankles wear in and get nice and creased.

Oooh, thanks. It says the height is 16" from the arch. They may be a little high on me but it sounds like it's worth a try. That same measurement on me is 16" so half an inch shorter.

I think they are just barely short enough on me - I don't honestly know my calf length but I think it's proportional to my 5'4" frame. Let me look for my k/r thread . . . EDIT: found it!

As for comfort, I do get blisters on the inner heel from them still. I wear very thin trouser socks since mine are narrow in the toe box, so that might be part of it. FWIW, I get blisters in that same spot from flats, heels, and everything in between. I have funky feet with 2 sets of ankles, so my fit issues are likely my own ;P

If it helps, my Julias are a size 8... they might be shorter in a size 5.5/6.

I'd order a 6 because my feet are wide. That may be the case and that would be great if they were a little shorter.

Hey, according to the Frye site, the shaft is 14" high on a size 6!

I recently purchased the Frye Julias in grey, also. Very comfortable boots. I got the size 6 which I wear with a medium weight knee sock. The height is good, not interfering with the back of my leg when sitting, and I'm only 5'3"

The other two boot babes wear theirs with skirts and over jeans. I wear mine under boot cuts.

I'm short and apparently am the first YLF petite who's been able to wear 20-eyelet docs with even a little leeway (Angie had thought it would be an impossibility, but it's not your overall height but how long your lower legs are, and mine are not so stubby, I guess?) So give them a try!
