Frye Harness boots

I noticed that some of you have purchased or have on your list the taller Frye Harness boots. I have a pair of these that I wear mainly with bootcut jeans. I'm wondering if any of you have tucked skinnies into them and if that works for a more mature person? It's been so cold here that I haven't really been wearing my skinnies much because I need warmer shoes and am not in a situation to buy anything new right now!

A picture would be good, but my initial thought is that if you wear other boots with skinnies than the Frye Harness boots would work too. I don't think a person would be too 'mature' for the look. I think it would have more to do with what works for your body type.

I think it'll work, I can def. picture it! I agree with San about "mature" issue. As long as you wear something streamlined on top I think it'll work easily and will probably be more interesting than having boots hidden under pants.

I think that they are probably a little shorter than harness boots but have the same rugged appearance. I like the look with jeans tucked in. I am 50 so obviously I do not think they are not mature enough. Would love to see how you wear them. Like docs, I think that the boot looks better shown than hidden under pants, although that would work just fine.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try it this afternoon and will post a pic as soon as I can. Laura - you are right - the 40's (and the 50's) is way too young to be mature!

I just saw a woman at the grocery store sporting just the look you describe and she looked great! I think you would too.

I struggle with this "age-appropriate" question a lot. There are some looks I stay away from, like Docs, but I think that has more to do with my body type and personal style than age. I think if you love a look and you enjoy wearing it, go for it!

Juli, I think you look amazing! I have a pair of 12R Frye Harness boots on my list in a very similar color to the one you're wearing (maybe even the same color). I think it's almost an ageless look, and you pull it off very well. It makes me even more excited to get mine.
