So....Frye boots with their western influence are stylish, but clothing with a western flair is NOT? Correct?

No, Isabel Marant did a very Western inspired collection Fall 2012. She's rehashing many of the pieces for her upcoming H&M collection this fall.
Pendleton Portland Collection has been very hot the last few years.

Western wear is a little too close to real ranch wear here in Kansas. Even my Python Petty booties get comments about am I moving to a ranch or on the rodeo circuit. No matter how popular it gets, I avoid the connection because it's not my reality.

Western wear could be part of some ones personal style. For most of us, wearing one item at a time would be doable, while head to to rodeo wear would seem costumey.

What type of look are you going after?

I think it depends where you live. I live in the intermountain west and western wear is common, and not just on ranches. It's not worn to the office, but to events such as theater, dinner, etc. And not too much or you will look like a cartoon. I saw your two jackets in another thread and thought they would be appropriate with boots, nice dark jeans, and a non western top. And no western style handbag.

I love all things Western-inspired. I think, like said above, it needs to be a single element in an outfit and not the dominating theme.
