Frye Boot Sizing

Like Diana, I am about to order the Frye Veronica shortie boot that is part of the NAS sale. I didn't try them on yesterday when I was there because the shoe department was a madhouse! I will not be getting back to Nordstrom's before the sale ends (I live quite a distance away), so I'm going to order online.

I have heard that they run a bit small, and to order half a size up. However, the website says if in between sizes, order the smaller size. I'm confused! I will most likely being wearing these with a heavier sock most of the time. Any advice?

For me, Frye runs large. I usually wear an 8.5 and have been consistently an 8 in Frye. I have narrow feet and long toes, and I still have room to wear a thick sock when I need to.

Cindy, I ordered them in my regular boot size. I am a true 7.5 but I always buy my boots in an 8, because I usually put two inserts in (one padded, one arch support) and wear thick socks. I have narrower feet but I do have a bunion so I prefer boots to be roomier. I've tried the taller veronicas in both a 7.5 and 8 and both felt OK. I figure I'll exchange these if they feel too big.

I suspect that some of the "size up" comments are from people with high arches/insteps who tend to have problems getting the pull-on Fryes on their feet. I have extremely low arches and insteps so I've never had that problem.

I bought those too and wore my normal size 8. I have narrow feet. They are the most comfortable boot I own, at least around the house. Too hot to wear them out yet.

I'm another one who finds Frye's to tend to run a bit large. I wear an 8.5 or 9 in boots, but only an 8 in sandals. My veronicas are a 9 and I think I could have easily gone down a half size or more.

I have the Veronica Frye and ordered my usual size 8. My feet are average width.

I would love to get a pair of Fryes but there is no place around here I can try them on. I have a pair of my mother's Fryes from the 1970s which are slightly small on me, but I have no idea how modern sizing compares to the old models.

I only have tried on, and own, one pair of Frye's in my life. They are my normal size, 7.5, and snug on me. I have narrow feet, and sometimes wear a 7, especially in sandals because of my short toes. But . . . I have insanely high arches, so maybe they take up the other extra space lol.

Thanks, everybody. I have pretty high arches, and I sometimes wear a 6 and sometimes a 6.5. I...still don't know what to do. Probably I will order a 6.5. I can always exchange for a smaller size if need be.

I have a wide foot and a high instep and typically wear a size 8 in a boot with this holding true for the Frye boots I currently own. I think that narrow feet can typically size down though. I hope this helps.

I wear a solid 39 in euro sizing, and I'm usually an 8-8.5 in shoes and boots. I have a size 8 in the Frye Engineer, and a size 8 in the Frye Melissa, and just bought the Veronica (full length not shortie but they fit the same) and ended up with 8.5. The 8 was definitely too snug, even barefoot or with a thin sock. I do love my Fryes.....

I am always a 9.5 in shoes, but all of my Fryes are size 9. My feet are very narrow. I hope this helps. I don't have the Veronica, but I have the Paige, Melissa, and Jillian.

I own a ton of Frye boots. If anything they usually run a tad large. I have the Veronica shorties and they run true to size. So I'd recommend buying your normal size.
