Frye Billy Short sizing ?

For those of you with the Billy short boots, did you size up a half? My Rory's and my Carson Pull ons are both 7's. What do you recommend?

Some of my clients had to size up half a size while others were fine in their normal size. I guess you should start with your normal size, Kelly.

I sized down a half size (to an 8) in Rorys and Carsons (I do not want to wear socks of any bulk in them).

I stayed my true size (an 8.5) in my studded Billy (not short, but footbed is probably same because I DO want to wear socks besides hosiery in them.

My foot is slightly wide, not wide enough for "C" width though.

I had to size up 1/2 a size for my Billy Shorties, Kelly. I have a slightly wide foot and the toe is rather pointed on this boot. I like to wear thick wool socks with them though, depends on your foot shape and your socks/ hose.

Thank you, Angie, MNSara and Cilleena! I ended up ordering my regular size--and now I'm debating on ordering the half size up too since 6pm doesn't offer exchanges. The Billy's in Clay are marked down to $109. Those will be my spring boots (in lieu of clogs) if they fit! Thanks again!

Update for anyone considering the Billy's--I'd consider ordering a half size up. My size fit but it felt very narrow and snug up toward the toe. My feet are average width. I'm kind of surprised how different the Billy's fit compared to my beloved Carson's. Go figure. Back they go.

Oh, too bad, Kelly. I was hoping to see pictures! I have such trouble with shoe fittings I would never be able to order without trying them on.

Yes, lesson learned. I think I'll stick to shoes that I know will fit when ordering from 6pm. The price of return postage was a bit of a shocker! They were super cute though.

Aww, bummer! Are you ordering the next 1/2 size up then?

I feel like Carole about online shoes/boots - it's really a cr*p shoot with my fussy feet. If I'm in a store, I will even try on multiple pairs of my size to see which 8.5 feels most comfy :-/

Lol, I agree about the cr*p shoot. I'm going to pass on the next size up since I went ahead and ordered some MizMooz spring boots in a similar color. I think the MM will work with my spring wardrobe better anyway. Thanks for all of the sizing input : )
