Frumpy Oxfords?

I did not get on the oxford bandwagon last year. then I fell and hurt myself in August. Now I need to rethink my spring and summer shoes since I am no longer able to wear my beloved ballet flats. The boots and booties I have been wearing will have to wait until it gets cool again in the fall. I have a few pair of loafers and a few wedges but once it warms up I will need other options. Enter these Attilo Giusti Leombruni oxfords. Are they too frumpy? I was thinking they would be good for my trip back to Washington D.C. in April. Your thoughts, please

I don't think frumpy per se, but what do you plan to wear them with? Meaning, the denim fabrication-- I saw these and wondered what is the best target outfit-- would not wear with BLUE jeans or dress pants but could see with white jeans and summer skirts. But, one if my biases is trying to wear a lighter colored shoe with my pale legs in summer.
That may sound like a lot of negatives, but it just reflects my Oxford journey, in that I am now interested in finding a style and color that could achieve very specific looks.

Unfrumped, you prefer lighter colored shoes in the summer? I picture them with rolled jeans, blue and colored, skinnies, and skirts.

O.M.gosh not frumpy at all! Do you thing they would have enough padding on the sole/heel for a trip with all the walking & standing for hours? I was at Costco today and the ladies my age (50's) are in marshmallowy tennis shoes. Talk about frump. I totally get it but It almost makes me want to dial back on style as I fear looking like I'm trying to hard. If you know what you will be wearing them with, they are a beautiful spring/ summer shoe.

I can see them with all colors of jeans, skinnies, and the right casual skirts and dresses. I'm very pro-oxford, and I love this interpretation (although, like Carter, they're a bit spendy for me).

I love oxfords and often AGL. I don't think those are frumpy. I have to say that some of what unfrumped said resonated with me. Bought denim blue colored leather oxfords last year and find I almost never wear them with blue denim. I guess I prefer the slight contrast of my mid-gray oxfords with denim. I do like them with white, gray and cream pants better. YMMV. I don't get nearly as much wear out of them as I thought I would. Mine are not quite as dark as the AGLs. This might reflect a styling limitation on my part also, so take it with a grain of salt.
