DH and I are meeting my aunt in Frankfurt for a long weekend in mid- December. I've never been there and I've never been to Germany in the winter, so I'm not sure what I should expect. Presumably it will be fairly cold and possibly snowy, but are there any quirks to be aware of? Pickpockets? Etc?
My aunt has somewhat limited mobility due to a hip problem, so no long walks, and she will have spent the previous two weeks on a cruise down the Danube visiting Christmas markets so she might be a bit bored by the big market in Frankfurt. We'll probably visit several museums and maybe see if there is one of those tourist buses you can take around to look at the sights but it would be fun to see some more unusual places off the usual tourist path.
Any recommendations for things to do?
