Found a fuzzy scarf - but how to tame this thing?! :)

Hi all, in my Xmas shopping I may have accidentally found myself an early gift ... this fuzzy scarf from Frank & Oak was in such a lovely green, I couldn't resist. I know the big fuzzy scarf is on trend and this one is really soft and pretty, but how do I tame this thing ... it's huge! Tell me if it looks ridiculous lol

The green looks gorgeous on you indeed! I'm a huge fan of huge scarves (the bigger, the better), so maybe I'm the wrong person to comment: I think it looks super the way you have styled it in these photos:-)

Nice colour scarf, I think its just meant to be worn exactly the way you’ve styled it, like you mentioned you’ll adjust to the silhouette and on the coldest days you’ll truly appreciate it.

Yes, if you're not used to seeing yourself in big scarves, then you might need a moment;-) It looks fab though, really!

I was gifted a fuzzy scarf last time they were "in" (10 or 15 years ago? worn with skinnies and a topknot) and boldly wore it to work. Whereupon my colleague commiserated with me about the terrible sore throat he was convinced I had. So I chickened out and kept it at the office for emergency layering purposes.

You can scroll Pinterest to learn different ways to tie an oversized (blanket) scarf, but the images all look pretty much like what you’ve achieved. It just takes time to get used to the look after a couple of years of the ‘no scarf’ trend.

Give it a week or two (and a couple of snow storms) and you’ll see more out in the wild.

I've been wearing my scarves (big and small) all along so my eye adjusts instantly to this. I like the various ways you've tied or arranged it. Dramatic!

You've tamed it perfectly in #2 and #3. That's how I wear mine, FWIW

I also wear the BIG scarf with the one end back but tied first. Pic below.

I've found that #1 and #4 don't work for me in practice. It needs to be TIED when I'm running around with doggies and errands in tow.

I like the stylings best that *don't* try to tame the scarf too much, especially #1 (though I take Angie's point about practicality). I.e., just let it be a big scarf, rather than trying to make it work like a regular scarf. (Now I've got Amy Poehler's "I'm not a regular mom, I'm a cool mom" meme in my head.)

Looks great on you! See, you are trendy after all! The color is really nice. I pass on these kind of scarves because I’m afraid they make my small head look even tinier, and they also can be a bit too warm for me. But I love the look on you — seems very on trend yet classic enough that it suits you well.

You have tamed it by mixing in plain neutrals. I have a big fuzzy plaid scarf that I plan to mix with other plaids. The look will be kind of wild but better than blending in with the walls.
