fossil rose gold watch

My birthday is coming up, and I am considering asking my parents for this watch. http://www.fossil.com/en_US/sh.....ath=ES2742

I've fallen in love with rose gold recently, and I love how simple and sophisticated this watch is. My only concern is that it could be "too classic" for a 24 year old. On the other hand, I think my outfits are colorful and lively enough that they will add the necessary youth to my look.

yay = get the watch
nay = don't get the watch

I've also included pictures of my current watch, which I've had for four years now and still love. It has a very different vibe than the rose gold watch, and I'm not planning on retiring it. I tried on the rose gold watch at fossil, and it's the same size as my current watch.

Kate, I think you could pull it off, and I can really see rose gold working well with the pretty earthy tones that you wear.

By the way, my first Fossil watch (which I haven't worn in a while, as changing the battery requires feats of epic proportions and going to a jeweler) is a delicate silver watch that is quite similar to the rose gold watch that you featured. It has a shimmery purple face, and I still love it. I guess I need to get the battery changed one of these days so I can swap it out with my chunky white watch.

I adore my Fossil and would love a second one; I think the rose gold one is very pretty and could work well with your skin tone and would work with multiple looks as well

I'm on my second rose gold watch. I love it. Mine is by Michael Kors. My first was by Toy, but it was problematic.

It is lovely! It is classic, but classic for a watch is good! It is not too classic for 24-y.o..

I'm going to add a couple other links because I just went through a Macys' watch flyer they mailed out and I was smitten with a few myself. One is Fossil, but has more of a menswear vibe (don't know if that appeals to you). The other is Skagen and Skagen always has a streamlined version of classic and this one has a touch of bling (don't know if that appeals to you).

Usually I like rose gold watches in a beefier look. But I do like the more traditional style in the rose gold too. I think it's a nice unexpected touch. I say Yay.

I'm definitely yay for the watch... as a matter of fact I'm now coveting this watch. I absolutely love it. I especially like the rose gold. I vote "get it" and I hope you don't mind if I try to find one too (I'm in Canada so a likely a different market). They say that imitation is the best flattery.

rosee, we should be watch twins!!! I noticed that one of my professors had a rose gold wedding ring (though I didn't even know what rose gold was at the time), and after several classes of staring at her hand I ended up searching to see what metal it was. I've been obsessing over rose gold ever since!

Angie, I did try the watch on at fossil, but didn't take any pictures. I asked my parents for the watch, so I'll post pictures once it arrives and give you permission to veto it if it's not fab!

Kate, considering the palette you dress in, my concern would be how rose gold looks against earth tones. (Being tone-deaf to earth tones, I don't know.) But I love the shape and style. Très elegant.

Sarah, I had a watch with a wider band (also from fossil) many years ago, and it always felt somewhat clunky and disproportionate. I can appreciate the men's watch look on others, but not on my tiny wrists (I wear my watches on the tightest or second tightest setting).

Kate, I also thought of the wider band, especially for your age, as a bit more trendy. I have small wrists but have the jeweler remove links to get the band to fit well. I like the first one that MNsara linked to with mother-of-pearl face. However, jewelry is personal and if you've had bigger watches before and not been happy, then you've probably chosen the right one.

YES!!! let's be watch twins! I tried in on today at the local mall (surprised they had it considering the Fossil Canada website doesn't).

1. I think I read that you said you had a small wrist (me too). The band is a good width -- not too slim or too thick, I really like it. Plus the links are a bit chunkier so it's not as delicate looking but still classic.

2. the face is a bit smaller than I thought it would be (especially compared to my other 2 watches) but now I think I like that too. Might as well get something different -- ladylike and classy!

3. the rose gold tone is really lovely and I found it to be more flattering than either the gold tone and silver tone on me (I tried a few watches, I always comparison shop), I posted another thread about metal colors (don't know how to bump so you'll have to look for it if interested), and Steph replied that rose gold is a neutral gold tone. I did more web searching on rose gold, and most said it flatters BOTH cool and warm skin tones. I think I also read you wear a lot of earth tones, so this could complement them well. I was wearing brown check pants, a charcoal sweater and an aubergine coat today and the rose gold tone looked really good with all of them.

4, Also learned today that rose gold (in general) isn't as common, but is more often found in vintage jewelry pieces. I like that this watch has a vintage-y look (to me anyways) and I hope to wear it with vintage dresses and other dress-up clothes (my other watches are too casual for that). I'll probably wear it more everyday too.
