Forum Etiquitte Question.....

Hi All! I am curious as to the "Appreciate this comment for its....." section on the forum replies. How do you all handle these? I want to "appreciate" every single one, but wasn't sure if there is some rule of thumb to follow? What do you all do?

I think it is completely up to you. Nobody sees what you "appreciate" except for the "apreciatee"

I try to appreciate every single reply to my posts. Just select the most appropriate category from the list. It is like saying "thank you" for the replies...

I'm like Sveta I try to 'appreciate' all comments on my posts. Sometimes especially if the tread gets lots of replies it can be impossible to mention each one in my reply so by 'appreciating' each post the person knows I've read it, but it's totally up to you I know some members find it a bit of a hastle to mark each post so don't bother x

I try to appreciate all of mine, too, and I love this feature because it allows me to thank people and show my enjoyment of what they have said, even if I can't offer a long reply!

I'm with Sveta and Louise, in that showing appreciation and acknowlegdement to the poster is why I do it largely. I find commenting back to each and every comment gets very lengthy and convoluted after a while. Of course, sometimes you just gotta say thanks in words, too!

I always give an appreciation for every post, because that is how we earn our awards on YLF...and even though it is not a competitive thing at all, it shows that we are responsible members of the forum. And how we are progressing in our fashion sensibilities, I suppose.

Thanks so much for the input. I wanted to appreciate all the comments, so now I will to let them know I read it and help out to earn awards....just like Sheila mentioned.

And, oops, I noticed I spelled etiquette wrong.....and I am an English minor!
