The next two weeks for me are going to be very busy at work and at home so suspect my forum time will be very limited.

I would like to post my daily outfits to keep me on track and also elicit feedback both good and bad.

But I'm only going to have time to do that and not comment on others' threads.

So my question is - is that rude and selfish to only post and comment on my own thread when busy? Or if unable to comment in other fabber's threads, should I refrain from posting my own during that time?

Shannon, I think we all have times like this, and I can't imagine anyone having a problem with this kind of posting from a veteran forum participant. It only bothers me when people post threads only to drive traffic to their blogs and never participate on other's threads.

Sometimes life gets in the way eh? Maybe you could consider just doing one post per week with a round up of that weeks photos and try to reply to others post just on that day?

I do feel like posting wiw is participating in and of itself. You're contributing by sharing with us. On the whole, I think it's good to participate in a few ways, but you do that. I don't think it needs to be a daily balance, more of a balance over time. I would not even bat an eyelash if you posted only wiw for a while.

In line with what Janet said, I do notice when a member never ever ever comments on anyone else's threads but only posts pics of themselves. It starts to feel rather one sided after several months of that. You've given so much here over the last few years that it would take several more years for you to even tip the scales in the other direction.

What Janet and Traci said. In your case, it's absolutely not selfish! In fact, it would be selfish of you to deprive us of your outfits!!!

It's only when people don't ever participate on others' threads that I get a bit annoyed. But there's an easy solution to that, too. Stop reading their threads!

I also think Diane offers a sensible suggestion, and that's another reasonable approach when life gets really full.

Team Suz!! I filter out those who after years are still only on one track - their own!
There are times when we have more energy to give to others and times when we don't. It can be lots of reasons, not just a busy life. You participate fully so often, I can't imagine anyone wondering why you are not hitting up their thread with a comment!

I will, selfishly, miss you! But completely understand and agree with all comments above. You are one whose feedback I always look for and appreciate, and I know others do too. We'll be drumming our fingers on our keyboards until life settles own for you - and looking forward to your daily outfit posts!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeell, Ok. But only if you promise to read all my back threads and comment on those you missed while you were busy.

That's my way of saying I will miss you--but I, too, would miss you even more if you don't post your wiw's. I love seeing your happy face and gorgeous ensembles.

I think we all give the time we have to the forum. Part of the fun of the forum is getting ideas on outfit combinations, checking out how trends look on "real women's" bodies, seeing how a piece fits different body types. Not everyone who posts on the forum comments, and not everyone who comments posts pictures. I say post away.

Actually it's forum variety which draws me the most, if someone mostly posts WIW outfits or finds or K/R but doesn't comment on other threads I find that very valuable too because I learn visually a lot, and I appreciate a wide diversity of styles. I can 'learn' more in one photo sometimes than in paragraphs of text.

Please continue to post your outfits, Shannon, and just participate when you can. Your outfit pictures are always interesting and helpful, and I don't think anyone will mind if you have to scale back on commenting on other threads for the time being.
Darn the rest of our busy lives for getting in the way of our YLF fun!

Stop in whenever you can in whatever capacity you can. I trust our good fabbers to be understanding!

Just re-entering from two weeks away myself. I say keep posting! You can always include a sentence reminding folks that you are scarce for a time, so they know not to expect quick replies, and you don't feel responsible to check on your posts often.
