I hate what happens to the back of my shoe when driving - you know, the one you use for the accelerator and brake? It gets all scuffed from the mat on the floor. So I started a while ago (when I started buying better quality footwear) wearing old shoes for driving and then changing my shoes in the parkade at work into my nice shoes for the day and then reversing this on the way home. But it's a bit of a pain and occasionally I forget. Plus a certain amount of vanity kicks in and I hope no one sees me in the parkade in my hideous driving shoes leaving over my car while changing my shoes!
So smart hubby last night when he knew I was wearing the new Docs today came up with a brilliant idea. Take one of his socks (or a sock that is bigger than your shoe size), cut a small hole for the bottom of the heel to poke through for "gripping" purposes, and just slip the whole thing over your shoe for driving...no need to change your shoes. Then when you get where you're going, slip off the sock and shove it into the glove compartment. Easy peasy.
It worked like a charm this morning!
