I prefer brighter orange to true burnt orange. I was ruined on it while a student at the University of Texas. You kind of can't get away from that color down here in Austin.

It's really nice to see a color removed from a fashion context (or contrasted with it). Just colors at play, out in the world. Orange in various shades goes really well with greys and browns--who knew?

Sheila, thanks for the lovely eye treat! The world wouldn't be as beautiful without shades of orange in it. Flowers, sunsets, fire...

Mochi, the color brown is really very dark orange in a basic sense.

Sheila, what gorgeous photographs! Thank you for posting that link. I was amazed at the different qualities and hues orange can have. Some of my favorite are the oranges inherent in wood tones and naturally tanned leather goods. YUM!

Stunning images Sheila! It reminds me of the line "Orange is the new blue" from Queer as Folk. Certain elements of the set, which had been blue or blue-lit in the first 2 seasons, were changed to warm orange, and it paralleled a move towards hope, warmth, optimism and renewal - towards life, if you will - in a major story arc.
