interesting article from Thursdays style section about John Fluevog and his enduring brand and rising popularity....and i want to thank YLF for introducing me to this designer....i'm a shoe person but had never heard of Fluevog's until i started reading YLF, haven't found my pair yet...but i know if will....

i thought this quote probably gets to the reason this the designer has preserved and continues to gain new customers

“I like the idea of being a little off-center — quirky yet very solid,” he said.

I feel the same way about this brand of shoes. I’d love a pair, but I haven’t found the right style and color combo. When I was in Seattle a couple years ago I went into the Fleuvog store near Pike Place Market. They had hardly anything in my size. I wish Zappos or Nordstrom would start carrying them.

Funny, I just took a friend into that Dumbo location a month or so when we were in Brooklyn. She’d never even heard of Fluevog before but she loved the brogue styles.

I still have two pairs of Fluevog boots that are a few years old — they are no longer workhorses but I keep them for certain times and outfits when they seem right. I really like them as a company — Their customer service is excellent.

I enjoyed that article. I’ve had 2 pairs of Fluevogs. I got this pair a couple months ago.

I bought my first pair of Fluevogs back in the early 80s and have had at least one pair in my closet ever since. The fits can be idiosyncratic but once you find a style “family” which works for your foot, you’ll have a pair of shoes which lets you walk comfortably for miles—plus makes you smile when you look down. This senior citizen is happily wearing her Fluevogs into her seventh decade...

I love them. I don't currently own a pair -- I gifted mine to Transcona Shannon because they felt a bit retro for my style and I wasn't wearing them enough -- but I would like to get another.

Susie -those are fab! Love the black & white—can see those working with a suit or a pair of jeans!
Gaylene -I love things & designers that are just as fab years after you first got them. So often today it seems brand are changing/ chasing a new target audience every couple of years. You’re right, it is nice to find a style home that feels comfortable to come back time and time again
