Oh the summer/Christmas of 1984 :

- I wore zebra print shorts with a neon green tee
- Or a peach tank under aqua dungarees....
- I loved this song and had the single on vinyl
- I also loved "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" and "Pride In the Name of Love"

- Madonna's "Like a Virgin" came out here in NZ

- I met a boy at the beach who told me he loved me in French....around a bonfire toasting marshmallows.

Thanks for sharing, Angie! I was noticing the difference in the recording equipment and technique.....and the hair.

Love it. Brings back great memories, I had just met my future husband at work who was on an assignment from NYC for a year in London. The clothes and the music are wonderful. Fabulous song with great musicians.

Oh, goodness. I was a college sophomore in Philadelphia when that song came out. Philadelphia did not have cable TV in 1984 (go ahead and chuckle, youngsters) so there was no MTV or VH1 and we would gather in someone's dorm room on Friday nights in the hope that they would show this on "Friday Night Videos" on network TV.

And then we would harness up the horse and buggy and go for a drive.

Boy George looked so different from everyone else in those days! Now half the boys in my son's dorm look like that. (Art school.)

P.S. Angie, you weren't living in South Africa yet when this came out, were you? Seems like you would have been a bit young for college.
