The Bay will deliver and has a great return policy. I find they are terrible for in store service but that might just be the one that is local to me.

I'm sure I tried these on last year at Walking on a Cloud but didn't buy them for some reason - might have been too shallow over the toe area. WOC is a good online store for us Canucks - I think shipping is free if you spend over $150. Not sure how returns work though.

And as far as The Bay goes, I am always shocked that for all of the money they put into those crazy radio ads where Bonnie Brooks is talking about the hottest trends, they could direct it towards a few more salespeople who could go get the shoes you need. Abysmal.

Ditto on the Bay service. They are unbelievably bad in my store. It is not the SAs fault. There are only one or two of them on the entire floor most of the time.

That's true Suz - last time I was at The Bay, there were two SA's to cover all of women's apparel, shoes and jewelry. It was CRAZY!

So the lousy customer service provided at the Bay is not just a western phenomenon. It astonishes me every time I go into the store at how poorly the merchandise is presented, how dingy and dirty the dressing rooms are, and how hard it is to get any assistance except at the cosmetic counters.

I have been following Bonnie Brooks' efforts to make over the chain, but it seems that her focus on overhauling the merchandise is not going to make much difference if you don't want to set foot into the stores.

It will be very interesting to see the effect that Nordstroms will have when it opens in Calgary's Chinook Mall. The Chinook Bay store resembles the Bloor Street Bay-- some good merchandise but an awful shopping experience.
