For Marianne: Similar Blouses to Coral J. Crew One

Hi Marianne!

I'm currently looking for summer tops and I remember you saying that if I found anything that was like my coral J. Crew blouse, but machine washable, to let you know. These tops are all machine washable, and while they aren't exactly like the coral top, I thought they were a similar shape, or had similar detailing. I think most of them would look cute with the clamdiggers as well, and some could be worn with a belt if you wanted.

Thank you Ana! You have amazing skills for finding clothes online. I can never find anything unless it's a very familiar brand like BR. Hmm I really like the RL blouse and the second Chadwick's one. I never ordered from Chadwick's, does anyone know what the quality is like? Is it comparable to, say, Gap?

You're welcome! I like the Ralph Lauren top a lot! I haven't ever bought anything from Chadwick's, but there are other ladies on here that have and I think they've had good luck with the brand. It seems similar to Gap quality from what I can tell.

Marianne, I have bought from Chadwick's before, they are similar to Gap or the Loft quality, their size is consistent too.

I love the RL top the best. Good job Ana.

What a fabulous selection, thanks Ana! My two favorites are the second Chadwich top (in yellow) and the navy blue ruffled RL top. Gorgeous.

Curious: do you think the Chadwick top would look good unbuttoned? I don't really wear blouses all the way buttoned. I could imagine the look under a little jacket, but not when wearing the blouse on its own (which is the point of a summer top). What do you think, would it kill the look or look fine?

I personally would wear the Chadwick's blouse unbuttoned partway to create a deep V, since a crew neckline is not really flattering on me. You could add a waist belt, too and that would look really cute!

Marianne, that ATL top Tanya just posted is VERY similar--it even has knife pleats like the J. Crew top and is a similar color--very cute (and machine washable)!

I'd personally go for the RL blue ruffle blouse and the ATL blouse, and the Chadwick's blouse (in that order).

I like the ATL blouse too! Thanks Tanya. I would probably get it in white though - ATL reds tend to be kind of dusty and that doesn't work for me. I really like the sleeveless cut. I also saw similar blouses at the Gap but their colors are always weird.
Antje, I was also thinking yellow on the Chadwick blouse. IMO it would look fine unbuttoned. Can't tell if it's fitted enough to wear without a belt.

I'm not sure if it's just the way the model is standing--but that ATL shirt that Tanya posted makes the model look really bottom heavy. I always figure if a model looks disproportionate in a very much fussed over photo--then it would look 10 times more disproportionate on a real person.

I think the model is standing in a way that kicks one of your hips out (it actually looks sort of awkward) but the inverted pleats at the bottom might puff out when you move. This shirt would definitely be one to try on in a store if you can first.

I'll try to see the ATL one in person for both fit and color. Their woven shirts often seem sort of stiff to me... don't know how to explain, they just don't drape well. I haven't actually bought anything from them in a few years, but you guys always seem to find things there that look amazing.
