Oh, what a beautiful area — thank you so much for sharing pics! I would so love to visit there someday.
My walks look quite different, obviously. But I have been mostly very good about walking (a little running) at least 5k everyday, most days more like 5 miles.
Yesterday I was feeling the cabin fever and decided to drive over the Bay Bridge, which connects us to the more remote and less populated eastern shore of Maryland. I wandered around a bit, driving roads I typically ride on my bike. Then I took a 3.5 mile walk on the paved trail in the area.
1 Road ducks! Apparently they like it there — one of the residents told me they’re known as the Three Amigos.
2 Crab pots, freshly painted and ready for the season. Used for catching the famous Chesapeake Bay blue crabs. Mmmmm.
3-5 Along the paved trail.
6 Driving home, I stopped to stock up on our favorite locally-made peanut butter at a nearby deli, and then stopped in downtown Annapolis to pick up a treat — carry-out fish and chips from our favorite Irish pub. It’s barely a block away from the state house, which is quite abuzz with news vans since our governor is making national headlines — for a good reason. He’s been making waves, advocating for strong ongoing social distancing tactics in the pandemic, and he secured half a million testing kits and millions of masks for healthcare providers, from South Korea. This bridge is always a favorite of mine — it crosses a beautiful wide river on the way into the city, next to the US Naval Academy. I used to train for my half marathons running over that bridge and can still remember how I felt the first time I ran all the way up — it’s a long hill and feels like a mile long until you get used to it, and it’s often windy! It was a rare moment — there were only two cars on the whole bridge, and the other one was my car’s exact twin (which is rare in itself — I think I could count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen my exact car, including color, in the nearly three years I’ve owned it — I had pulled up behind them at a stop light, and the other driver rolled down his window and waved at me, so I guess he hasn’t seen many either!).
