Anne asked about sweater recommendations as we head into our Australian winter. Sweaters and knits are problematic for me. Most wool irritates my skin and cashmere is expensive and often pills and does not wear well no matter at what price point I buy at. I wanted some weekend sweaters to wear at home and out and about. I have sworn off paying lots of money for knits because it is yet to work out well for me. Often my cheap and cheerful buys are the best.

I chanced upon these two knits in a children’s wear shop called Pavement. They go up to size 18 children, which is what I bought. Pricing is very reasonable. These were both priced at AUD$60 each, but with a special on I got both for $80 (about US$50). The quality is nice and the fit roomy. Anne, you may want to give them a look as I know you are even smaller than me, so Pavement will fit you. Normally I don’t wear grey, but the grey sweater has metallic stars and hearts and a hood, so I could not resist. DS calls me a “Sparkle Specialist” and declared that it looked like me. I am wearing it now!
